Antonio Conte has reiterated his commitment to Chelsea,
dismissing speculation he could be tempted by a move back
to his native Italy.
There has been interest from Inter Milan, with Sky in Italy
reporting that the Nerazzurri have contacted Conte’s
representatives over his availability. There has also been
reported contact from Inter’s rivals AC Milan.
But Conte insists he is planning to be at Chelsea next season.
Speaking after Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Manchester City,
Conte told Sky in Italy: “Now we are fighting hard, we are
trying to end this season by achieving something important
and unexpected. Then we will certainly try to build something
When asked whether that meant next season, Conte replied:
“Yes, for the next season.”
Inter have had a stuttering season in Serie A, with manager
Stefano Pioli having to answer questions about the possibility
of Conte replacing him at press conferences.
Conte is also understood to be the first choice of AC Milan’s
Chinese owners. They tried to lure Conte to the San Siro last
summer when he left his role as Italy manager.
